Kim, Man-Hee is a Korean abstract painter who has internationally exhibited his work and taught
in Korea for many years. With the influence of Abstract Expressionist pioneers such as William de
Kooning, Mark Rothko, Franz Kline, and Clyfford Still, Kim’s painting combines heavy brushstrokes
with rough textured pigments and movements of lines that create calligraphic signs. Mark Kurdziel
is a New York based abstract painter who has been teaching at the Fashion Institute of Technology.
His compositions express a perspective where the ordinary (a fish tank, a housecat) can be
re-enchanted to the realms of the surreal and mystical.
